Terms of Use

1. The service

Duel Sport is a sports social app for arranging Duel matches, sharing highlights, tracking ranks and tasks, and — when enabled in your region — buying gear or booking coaching. Features may differ by country, device, and whether a capability is still in private testing.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. We will not pretend unfinished features (for example smart glasses or full live AI coaching) are already available.

2. Eligibility

You must be old enough to use the app under the laws of your region and able to form a binding contract. If you are under 18, you may only use features we mark as appropriate for minors (friendly matches without point stakes) and, where local law requires it, with a parent or guardian’s consent.

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live).

3. Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile, for keeping login details secret, and for activity on your account. Phone numbers must be yours to use. We may refuse, merge, or reclaim usernames that impersonate others or violate these Terms.

You can delete your account in Settings → Delete account. Sign-in stops immediately. Residual data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Matches and showing up

Matching is an introduction, not a guarantee of a perfect game or a safe encounter. You decide whether to travel and whether to stay. Meet in public venues when you can. Repeated no-shows, fake skill levels, or harassment can limit matching or lead to suspension.

Both sides should confirm before you travel. Scores that affect ranks should be reported honestly. Where the app asks both players to confirm a score, that confirmation — not an automated suggestion — is authoritative.

5. Virtual points

Friendly challenges do not involve cash. Any points shown in the app are virtual rewards earned by playing, checking in, or completing tasks. Points cannot be purchased, transferred to another person, or withdrawn as money.

If we later enable optional point stakes between willing adult players, those stakes remain virtual points under the same three rules (no purchase, no transfer, no cash-out). They are not gambling and not a substitute for money. Minors are limited to friendly matches. We may disable stakes in a region at any time.

6. User content

You keep ownership of videos, photos, and text you upload. You grant Duel Sport a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, transcode, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the service (including watermarks and sharing links you choose).

You must have the right to share what you upload. Do not post illegal, harassing, sexual, violent, or infringing material. Clips may show other people — respect their likeness and privacy. We may remove content, suspend accounts, and cooperate with lawful requests when rules are broken.

7. Paid goods and services

When the shop or coaching marketplace is enabled, prices, taxes, and refund rules are shown at checkout before you pay. Platform fees may apply. Payments are processed by Stripe and/or Apple Pay / Google Pay; Apple or Google terms also apply to those buttons.

Physical goods are sold subject to stock and delivery. Coaching and hitting sessions are fulfilled by the listed provider; we are the platform, not the coach, unless we say otherwise on the listing. Cancel according to the policy shown before you pay.

8. Acceptable use

Do not: scrape or overload the service; reverse engineer except as allowed by law; create fake accounts; manipulate ranks or payments; ask others to pay you off-app; or use the app to commit a crime. We may rate-limit, throttle location updates, or block devices that threaten the service.

9. Third parties

SMS codes are sent via Twilio. Media is stored on S3-compatible object storage. Sign-in and store payments may involve Apple, Google, WeChat, or Meta when you choose those options. Their terms and privacy notices apply to their processing.

10. Disclaimers

Duel is a physical sport. You play at your own risk. We do not provide medical, legal, or insurance advice. We do not supervise courts. The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Matching quality depends on how many players are nearby. In a new city the queue may be empty. That is a cold-start fact, not a hidden defect we will pretend is not there.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Duel Sport and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from the service or from meeting another user in person.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for paid features in the 12 months before the claim or (b) fifty US dollars (or equivalent). Some places do not allow these limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Duel Sport against claims arising from your content, your matches in the real world, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent we caused the harm by our own willful misconduct.

13. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we shut down the service. Sections that by nature should survive (including licenses already granted, disclaimers, and liability limits) survive termination.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, except where a law requires a new agreement. If you do not agree, delete your account and stop using the service.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, United Kingdom, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where a mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where you have a non-waivable right to sue in your home courts.
